Regular exams are an important part of maintaining your oral health. By practicing good oral hygiene and coming in for regular check-ups with us, you can help ensure that you will have healthy teeth and gums for life.

Your first visit with Healthy Smiles Dentistry of Sierra Vista will be an educational one. We strive to give you all the information you need about your oral health needs. We will explain what to expect during your appointment, how to maintain healthy teeth and gums, and what is involved in our treatment plans.

Comprehensive Dental Exams include X-rays, Complete Periodontal Exam, Head/Neck Exam, Oral cancer screening, Dental Charting, Inter-Oral video exam, and Comprehensive Written Treatment Plan.

A Limited Emergency Exam is a problem-focused exam whereas x-rays may or may not be taken.

What to Expect

An initial exam is a comprehensive dental examination.  That's just the beginning. The exam also includes checking for gum disease, evaluating your risk of developing other oral problems and checking your face, neck and mouth for abnormalities.

A dental exam is a good way to take care of your teeth, but the process can be scary for patients who are new to the practice. From knowing what to expect before, during, and after the appointment, exams are easier to handle when you know what's coming.
